Public Meeting Notices for May 2026 (City of Lewisburg)

The Mayor and Council of the City of Lewisburg will hold a Public Hearing Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at 5:50 p.m. at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street, followed by their regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. The public hearing will be to hear comments or opinions concerning the following:

1. Consider approval of second reading of Ordinance 26-04, an ordinance to rezone 1042 Veterans Parkway (Parcel Map 062, Parcel 053.04), from BP, Business Park to I-2, Industrial Park. City of Lewisburg Planning Commission gave a favorable recommendation for the rezoning of said property by vote of 6-0 on March 17, 2026, meeting.  

The Mayor and Council of the City of Lewisburg will hold a regular monthly Work Session Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 E. Church Street.

HVAC Maintenance Service Contract

The City of Lewisburg is accepting sealed bids from qualified, licensed contractors to provide comprehensive HVAC preventive maintenance services for multiple City facilities. Sealed bids must be submitted to City Hall, Attn: Gina Jones 131 E. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, by June 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. deadline.  The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The City of Lewisburg will accept sealed bids for the Taxiway Reconstruction Project at the Ellington Airport, Lewisburg, Tennessee.  Bids will be received by the City of Lewisburg at the Lewisburg City Hall located at 131 East Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091 until 11:00 A.M. (local time) on June 11, 2026. Major items of work include:

This project involves the reconstruction of approximately half of the airports parallel taxiway, as well as the construction of a new segment of taxiway connector.  Items include approximately 12,250 square yards of asphalt paving, approximately 128,000 cubic yards of earthwork, tree clearing, storm structure installation, and replacement of existing taxiway incandescent lighting with LED lighting.

Bids which are delivered in advance by any means shall be delivered to the Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street Lewisburg, TN 37091, Attention: Gina Jones – City Recorder.

Important Notice to Bidders:  A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Ellington Airport Terminal Conference Room. for the purpose of discussing the scope of the project and answering questions.

 ATTENDANCE AT THIS CONFERENCE BY AN APPROPRIATE CONTRACTOR REPRESENTATIVE IS MANDATORY IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT A BID.

The City of Lewisburg, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or disability in consideration for an award.

The project is funded partially with federal funds, therefore is subject to the following provisions:

Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity, Buy American Preference, Davis Bacon Act, Debarment and Suspension, Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, Foreign Trade Restriction, Lobbying Federal Employees, and Procurement of Recovered Materials.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a Bidders Bond on the form contained in the Proposal Book from a surety company acceptable to the City of Lewisburg or a cashier’s check or certified check made payable to the City of Lewisburg for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.  A 100% Contract Bond will be required of the successful Contractor. Liquidated damages for delay in contract completion shall be as stated in the Proposal.

All Bidders shall be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, and all amendments thereto in effect on the date of receipt of bids.  All bidders must comply with Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, in particular Chapter 6 regarding preparation of bid envelope. The proposal, which shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, shall be clearly labeled on the outside of the envelope, at a minimum, with the name of the project, Contractor’s name and address and license number, classification, expiration date, and the date and time of the Bid Opening (so as to guard against premature opening of any bid).  A form has been included for your convenience.  Failure to show these items on the outside of the envelope will result in the bid being returned to the Bidder unopened.

Withdrawal of Bid: Any Bidder, upon his and his authorized representative’s written request, will be given permission to withdraw his proposal not later than the time set for opening thereto.  At the time of the opening of proposals, provided written request has been submitted prior to the time of the opening, when such proposal is reached it will be returned to the Bidder unopened.  Unless contrary to the statues of the State of Tennessee including local charter provisions no Bidder may withdraw a bid submitted for a period of 180 days after the actual bid opening without the Owner’s consent.

The City of Lewisburg reserves the right to reject any/and or all proposals, to waive any formalities and informalities in the proposals received, and to accept any proposal which in its opinion may be in their best interest.
