The LEWISBURG RECREATION CENTER is a controlled access facility. No one is permitted beyond the reception area without paying an admission fee, or having a membership pass.

  • No one is permitted to use the facility under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Appropriate attire is required at all times. This includes wearing a shirt and non-marking soled shoes. Swimsuits and swim footwear are limited to the Aquatics area.
  • Staff cannot guarantee the security of valuables and are not responsible for lost or stolen items. It is therefore recommended that valuable personal items be left at home. The Lost and Found area will be maintained at the Front Desk.
  • Any display of poor conduct, fighting, abusive language, or willful destruction of University property may result in loss of facility use privileges, and, if appropriate, further disciplinary or legal action.
  • Individual patrons shall utilize all recreational facilities at their own risk.
  • A parent, legal guardian, or other adult must accompany any users under the age of 10 years.
  • Animals are prohibited in the facility, unless utilized as a guide or assistant for people with disabilities.
  • The LRC is a smoke-free facility. Smoking and tobacco use in any form are prohibited.
  • No food, drink (except water in a closed container), or chewing gum is permitted beyond the control area of the Recreation Center. All food items must be consumed in the lounge area of the free zone.
  • Radios with headphones are permitted in the facility; however, other audio/visual media are prohibited unless authorized by LRC.
  • Signs may not be posted on any wall in the LRC. All postings must have prior approval from administration and then may be posted on general use boards.
  • Bicycles, rollerblades, and skateboards are prohibited in all indoor facilities.
  • Passing of footballs, kicking soccer balls, and throwing Frisbees are prohibited in the LRC, unless in the gym.
  • Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
  • If damages occur to the LRC equipment or facilities, the responsible party will pay for the cost of the repair.
  • The LRC will operate in accordance with all City policies and procedures.
  • Any individual not following appropriate policies or behaviors will be asked to leave the facility.
  • The LRC reserves the right to interpret Center regulations in its best interest.

Restrictions

  • Adults must participate with or directly supervise all children under the age of 10 at all times. Youth 10 years of age or older may access the facility without adult supervision.
  • Children under 16 years are not permitted to use the weight and fitness equipment or cardiovascular equipment at any time.

Racquetball and Walleyball Court Rules

  • Racquetball and Walleyball court reservations can be made by contacting Sports Complex (931) 359-1593
  • All players must check in at the Sports Complex desk before going to a court.
  • A waiting list will be established, and courts not claimed will be given away at 10 minutes after the hour.
  • Protective eyewear is strongly recommended and should be properly worn.
  • Persons under the age of 14 must be accompanied On Court by an adult
  • Protective eye wear is required
  • Proper athletic attire and athletic shoes must be worn at all times (minimal; non-scuff shoes, shorts and a shirt)
  • No food or beverages allowed on the courts
  • No spitting on the floor
  • No abusive language, profane gestures or slang terms for profanity
  • No horseplay of any kind will be tolerated

Locker Rooms

  • Secure all items in a locker with a lock
  • The LRC is not responsible for lost or stolen items
  • Lockers are free for day use. Items left in lockers overnight may be removed and donated to charity. Locker rental is available at the front desk
  • Be considerate of others
  • Use of any electronic device with camera capabilities, are prohibited in the locker rooms.
  • Please remain properly covered while in public areas of the locker room
  • The LRC prohibits any inappropriate behavior. Please report any such behavior to a staff person
  • Children 6 years and older must use gender appropriate locker rooms. Please follow all posted age restrictions
  • Failure to follow these rules and guidelines could result in suspension or termination of your membership
  • Dry off before leaving the locker room

Fitness Center

  • Fitness Center will close 15 mins prior to posted LRC closer times.
  • A Current Membership or Day Pass is required for access to this fitness center, and is subject for verification at any time by staff.
  • No persons under 16 is permitted in the fitness center. All persons 16-17 must have adult supervision, or have Orientation form on file
  • Proper athletic attire and athletic shoes must be worn at ALL times (KEEP SHIRTS ON).
  • Please refrain from using abusive language, profane gestures, fighting or horseplay.
  • Please ask staff or familiarize yourself with equipment prior to use.
  • Please use collars at the end of bars, and SPOTTERS when needed.
  • Please do not slam or drop weights.
  • Please place ALL weights on trees and dumbbells on racks after use.
  • Please return ALL fitness equipment to proper storage areas.
  • Please do not take bars, Free weights, or dumbbells out of room in which they are housed in.
  • Musical devices are not permitted unless they are used with headphones.
  • Management is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Please report all equipment malfunctions, personal injuries, and specific concerns immediately to the management.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who violates any rule, regulation or persons whom abuse equipment or facility.
  • Wipe down all equipment after each use.

Gymnasium

  • Hours of operation and gymnasium schedules will be followed unless otherwise posted or verbalized by staff.
  • Respect will be given to all LRC Staff and Patrons alike
  • Proper athletic attire and athletic shoes must be worn at all times (minimal; gym shoes, shorts and a shirt)
  • No Sagging of shorts or pants
  • No abusive language, profane gestures or slang terms for profanity
  • No fighting, or horseplay of any kind will be tolerated
  • No dunking or hanging on the rims
  • Keep all doors closed. Only use “Emergency Exits” in case of an emergency
  • Return all borrowed equipment to recreation desk, ball racks or proper storage area after use
  • Clean up any and all messes that are made
  • Headphones must be worn with all musical devices

Outdoor Pool

  • POOL CLOSED WHEN LIFEGUARDS ARE NOT ON DUTY
  • No Running.
  • No abusive language or gestures
  • No GLASS in pool areas
  • No Tobacco or Vapor products inside pool area
  • No fighting or horseplay of any kind will be tolerated
  • No diving, except in designated areas
  • No PDA (Public Display of Affection)
  • No jumping over the fence for any reason
  • Everyone must exit pool during safety breaks
  • Only children over 10, and able to swim can be to be left unaccompanied
  • ALL children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • Children not toilet trained Must Wear swim diapers (see lifeguards)
  • Respect will be given to all LRC Lifeguards and Patrons alike!!
  • Extended breaks will be taken for inclement weather

Diving board

  • One bounce
  • Dive only from front of board NOT side
  • Wait for previous diver to clear area
  • Swim immediately to nearest ladder

Slide

  • Must be 48” tall or able to pass swim test to ride slide
  • One rider at a time. NO double riders
  • No floaties, lifejackets or similar items.
  • Must ride lying on back, feet first.
  • Must exit to the ladder to the right.

Golf Course

  • All players must check in at pro shop before teeing off
  • All players must have a ticket or annual pass card before teeing off.
  • No more than five players allowed in a playing group.
  • All groups must allow faster players to play through.
  • All players must have a bag and set of clubs.
  • If 90 degree rule is in effect, please keep carts behind “no cart signs”, and return to path. If 90 degree rule is not in effect, carts must stay on cart path.
  • Players under 16 cannot drive a recreation center golf cart.
  • Please repair all ball marks and divots.
  • No profanity or disrespectful behavior is allowed.
  • Teeing order is first come, first serve. If any group is not ready to tee off, they must allow players behind them through.
  • Golf carts must be driven properly, or returned to the pro shop.
  • Shirts must be worn at all times.
  • Softspike golf shoes or tennis shoes only.
  • No alcoholic beverages allowed
