The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, recreated as a life-size facsimile by Marshall County artist Nathan Pennington, will be on display and free and open to the public on the Square in historic downtown Lewisburg, Tennessee, Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 8am to 2pm.
Nathan Pennington was commissioned to create this facsimile by an anonymous private donor through Soldier’s Wish. The Tomb will be delivered to Tulsa on Sunday May 5, donated to Floral Haven of Tulsa, Oklahoma and unveiled on Memorial Day weekend 2019. It will be used by the Starbase Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol to re-enact the “Changing of the Guard”.Many of these cadets have undergone special training with the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.They perform this solemn ceremony 24 hours a day at Floral Haven throughout Memorial Day weekend each year.
